Gone with the Wind

I read this book right after reading Uncle Tom's Cabin. Maybe it was the shock of the contrast, but going from a high-minded, faith-driven book with a broadening view of humanity to a narrow-minded wallow in the dungheap of prejudice and overwhelming selfishness was just more than I could take.

This is the second time I've read this book, and the first time as an adult. I loved watching Scarlett develop in this novel, and am incredibly pleased with the ending.

I cannot believe I waited this long to read this wonderful, epic story! Some of the war scenes were a bit drawn out for me, but I really enjoyed this one.....
